WAYS TO BE A Operation: REVEILLE COMRADE

There are many opportunities as a Comrade before, during, and after Operation: REVEILLE 2019.

Volunteer Opportunities

Operation: REVEILLE – Preparing Apartments

To rapidly connect homeless Veterans to permanent housing during Operation: REVEILLE, help is needed to prepare 10 apartments for Veterans to move into during Operation: REVEILLE on Veterans Day, November 11, 2019.  We will need 40 volunteers for these pre-event apartment preparations – exact dates and times TBD.

Apartment preparation includes furniture assembly, cleaning and ‘stocking’ apartments with dishes, towels and other supplies to make the unit ‘move in’ ready.

Teams of 4-5 people are needed to for each apartment units. This is a great small group volunteer opportunity for community, civic, service, faith-based and corporate groups.

***Anyone who selects ‘preparing apartments’ in the question below, will be notified with more information regarding about the logistics of when and where for this comrade opportunity.

Operation: REVEILLE (Day of Event)

On the day of Operation: REVEILLE 2019, Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Veterans Memorial Park and Museum – 3602 US Highway 301 North, Tampa, FL. 33619, approximately 50 volunteers will be needed between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for the following Comrade Roles:

Hospitality Comrade – provide a smiling face while greeting and helping people locate areas at the event and assist with general event needs. You will provide the hands needed to set-up our food tent area, serve our Veteran guests food and beverages, and help clean up as the day winds down.

Buddy/Peer Comrade – assist our Veteran guests with navigating the available services and event areas on Veterans Day. Having a Comrade along their side during this event, truly makes our Veterans feel welcome and appreciated. Starting with breakfast, you will visit with a Veteran and ensure they are provided the upmost care while at the event. Preference will be given to Comrades that are active military or Veterans, as well as, those who are able to be with a Veteran for the entire event.
